Pools and Parks

This weekend was a cold one, so we stuck around the house most of the time. We did, however, manage to head to the local pool first thing in the morning on Saturday, and then we also made it to the park for some serious swinging and frolicking on Sunday. But the rest of the time was spent in the usual, mundane, family way.

In the very narrow window between naps and preparing food, or cleaning up, we thought we could quickly finish our spot light job in the cellar. As fate would have it, Andraz broke our last skinny metal drill bit upon drilling the third hole, and we had to abandon the project entirely. Sigh. This job will never get done.

Kitchen: Still not finished
Tiles: Still not finished
Upstairs lights: not finished
Stairs: not finished
Cellar lights: not finished

I am impatient with having to have so much patience.

Trix helping with the dishes.
Cute little hippy boy.
Brotherly love.
Enjoying the park on a cold Sunday.

  1. One of course should not forget that the cellar lights (which are an important step in finishing a lot of other things) should have been done one weekend earlier, however:

    - Mollie got some kind of flu on Friday and managed to give it to kids over the weekend.
    - She was not able to do much over the weekend and spent it resting.
    - During the week, kids were getting worse and better from the disease and Andi was finishing an important project at work, which was due on Friday.
    - Which meant last week was very difficult on everyone.
    - Finally, with Andi's project finished, kids feeling better and Mollie back to form, this last weekend claimed Andi, who was fighting headaches, tiredness and fever.

True, projects are not yet finished, but sometimes life gets a little difficult and projects have to step back and wait. It's frustrating, but not as frustrating as having to visit a kid in a hospital or something. So, let's be glad we all successfully survived this illness.
