Cheese

The sprogs enjoying a trip to the local hardware store.
Would you like a little wine with that cheese, Vin?
My back feels like the muscles are being ripped off of my spine in 6 different directions, so I will need to make this short in order to get into a nice, hot bath. We had visitors this afternoon, so I spent the morning tidying up a bit and resting. Little Trix took an enormous nap this morning too so that was great. We three left early on to drop off the Vin at kindergarten, and wouldn't you know it the teacher had to pull me aside and ask me what 'ali' meant. Apparently he is playing the ali-game with his teacher and the other kids at school, but they don't speak Slovene so everyone is a bit confused. I filled her in and now she is playing the 'ali' game but in German.

Trix and I returned home to tidy up for our guests and to enjoy the warmth and glow of a roaring fire while watching snow that fell all day today.

Then Vin came home and needed to burn off some energy and was running and jumping and kicking things all afternoon until our friends Ellen and her 2 year old Rebecca came over. Then it was two toddlers running and kicking and pushing each other for a couple of hours.

Vin got to play with the chalkboard stickers I scored in the clearance isle of the
hardware store...these removable stickers were originally 23 euro, I paid 1 euro.

Then after dinner, bath, books and bed, here I sit to tell all you good people about my aching back. Oh! and a nighttime update...so remember that two nights ago Vin got up 36 times before finally crashing for the night? Well last evening he got up just 6 times and tonight he got up only 2 times...so this sleep training thing totally worked and has completely saved our lives. Instead of being held hostage, Andi is in the basement installing our spot lights and I am planning on taking a bath. I must pat myself on the back for this. This was a big step forward for our quality of life!

  1. I am thrilled to hear of your sleep training success! When I read how you brought this about, I immediately thought of the TV show, "Super Nanny"...this is exactly how she trained parents to train their little ones, and if they followed her instructions to the T, it always worked. Kudos to you, smart mommy!
