What?!?!

We have turned a corner here on the Trixie-eating front!

But first, the daily update: Today Andi had to work again, but he did agree to take a half a day at work in order to help me out more at home. My back has been killing me for the past 10 months, so we have been trying all we can to get me better, but things just aren't working out just yet. Physiotherapy is wonderful for the hour I am there, but then the pain returns. I may need to get an MRI and some diagnostics as to what is going on with me.

Vin, Trix and I went for a long walk around the neighborhood this morning and got back into the house just in time for me to make a little pasta lunch for the boy. We all read books and drew pictures to kill the time before Andi came home. Vin is an interesting guy to draw with, he plays a never-ending game of Pictionary where he demands the image, but no one is there to guess the picture. As you may recall, Vin's favorite object in the entire world is a car. He will wake from a dead sleep just to say, "Auto" and then flop back down into deep REM. He will look through an entire search-and-find book and see only cars. Therefore it is inevitable that the first request he has of those who draw pictures with him, is auto.Close there after is ghost, train, flower and wheel.

Andi came home and Trix and I headed out to the stores for some food shopping. After circling the entire store and picking out all the goods, I got in line at the checkout counter and realized that I had left all my cards and money in my wool jacket pocket...and had left the wool jacket on my bed. I then retraced my steps, replaced everything and went home a bit defeated. All four of us headed out again later on and finally got everything we needed.

A little dinner, bath, pajamas, stories and bed and here we are. Speaking of dinner...Vinny was left eating some of his Minga's left over yogurt with muslix for dinner and I heated up some left over carrot-potato mash for Trix. About 3 minutes after placing her food on the table, Andi said, "You have to see this" I crouched down to where they were and Trix was TOTALLY into her food. She had a huge open mouth for each bite and munched it all down quickly and happily. Andi got about 15 bites into her, whereas we have never before gotten as much as 3 spoonfuls into her for the past month.

P.S. My back is killing me and I am exhausted.
P.P.S. If you like the blog, please know that I love your comments...so there you go.

  1. Dear sweet, achey-backed niece, I love, love your blog! I wonder if Ms. Trixie Mae will grow up answering to Trixie, at least to her family...reminds me of someone I know who still answers to 'Butch'. :-)

  2. I also love your blog! What good news that T-M is now eating solid food with gusto. That should help to get those muscles built up to help protect herself from big brother who wants to wrestle with her. I am sorry to hear that your back problem still exists. I hope you can find relief soon. Love from Mom
