We were particularly lucky to see her today, as I was under the mistaken impression that I would begin to work on Wednesday next week, but she helped by informing me that the 16th is in fact a Monday...not a Wednesday. Yes, I am an idiot.
Vin has charmed about half of Vienna by now. And I say half, because the other half just haven't met him yet. Every time we go out we are stopped by admirers. This week I had a 70 year old woman coo over him and tell me how I need to enroll him into a Chinese speaking kindergarten to ensure that he ends up with a minimum 153 IQ, and I had a group of young hoodlums stop to ask his name and to fawn over him. If we stop at a streetcrossing, we get smiles from those coming and those going. If we take an elevator, he shines his winning smile and the whole lift is in awe.

Yes, I am aware that this might just be a phase and that perhaps when he is 4 years old and screaming for me to buy him a toy, he won't be so charming. But I can dream that he will remain this way forever.

I like seeing Vinny as a trusting little baby that disarms everyone with his big, toothless smile. I wouldn't want him to be all suspicious, even if it might help sometimes. I guess we'll just have to make sure he's not taking candy from strangers.
